Frequently asked questions
Are you a tree company?
No. Storm Limb Help is a referral service. We pass your request to an independent local tree service, and that company quotes and does the work directly with you.
What does it cost me?
Nothing. The referral is free for homeowners. You pay the tree company only if you hire them. We may be paid by the tree services we refer.
Who is responsible for the work?
The tree company you hire. Ask them for proof of insurance and their PA Home Improvement Contractor registration before work starts.
How fast can someone come out?
It depends on the company and on demand. After big storms everyone is busy. We can't guarantee a response time.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree?
For trees on private property, usually not in Scranton. For street trees between curb and sidewalk, yes: Scranton requires Shade Tree Commission / City Forester permission, and Clarks Summit requires a Shade Tree Commission permit. See the service-area pages.
Will insurance pay for removal?
Often when a tree damages a covered structure. Usually not for removing a healthy tree. Check with your insurer.
